Day 1: Individual Counselling

Day 2: Couples Counselling
- Engaging Couples: Learn various techniques and approaches for effective couples counselling.
- EFT and Imago Therapy: Gain in-depth knowledge of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Imago Relationship Therapy.
- Adaptation: Discover how to tailor these methods to specific scenarios for maximum impact in couples counselling.
Day 3: Family Counselling
- Innovative Approaches: Equip yourself with practical skills and innovative techniques for effective family counselling.
- EFFT Framework: Deepen your understanding of family dynamics through an Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) framework.
- Experiential Techniques: Explore unconventional methods like role-playing, family sculpting, and psychodrama activities to engage families in meaningful ways.
- Adaptation: Learn how to adapt these techniques to various family contexts for improved outcomes.
About Dr. Sherry
Along with his colleague Linda O’Neill, John is a founding member of the Community Counselling Centre. John has over 20 years of experience as a clinician and his academic and clinical work has focused on couples, family, and group therapy. John is the Chair of the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC)’s Psychology department, and is a faculty member for UNBC’s Master of Education in Counselling program. His research interests tend to centre around counsellor training and development with a special interest in experiential approaches to teaching and clinical supervision. John is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and holds the designation of Approved Clinical Supervisor (RCC-ACS) through the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC), with whom he also sits on a number of committees. John has been instrumental in implementing education around couples, family and group counselling in northern BC and beyond.
